As an MS Pre-Licensed Professional, CDVC (Certified Domestic Violence Counselor) and, CMHP (Certified Mental Health Professional) with over 15 years of experience, Ms. Jones uses the Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach coupled with mindfulness practices to facilitate meaningful and positive change in your thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Her goal is to help clients learn how to integrate behavioral science with practical everyday life strategies.
She is a passionate person who enjoys helping individuals with a variety of different needs. Her education, knowledge, and personal experiences have allowed her to work more with individuals who are suffering from domestic violence, human trafficking, and substance abuse. Whatever your situation, no matter how desperate things might seem, no matter what has happened in your past— Ms. Jones believes you can experience a better life. Junon Dunbar, Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner
In Community Counseling, Inc., is growing, and to continue providing you with the best standard of care, we are bringing on a new provider. We are very excited to welcome Junon Dunbar, Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner beginning July 7th, 2022. Miss. Dunbar will provide psychiatric assessments and medication management to our clients.
Junon Dunbar began her nursing career over 15 years ago, is a Nurse Practitioner for the past 7 years, and has also been a group homeowner for over the past 15 years. She has worked in a variety of settings including, hospitals, mental health facilities, and group homes — and has worked with a wide range of age groups, from adolescents to geriatrics.
As a dual board-certified Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner, Miss. Dunbar comes with a strong history of success in the treatment of medical and psychiatric conditions. She is confident in her ability to provide excellent care to patients with psychiatric disorders. She has a strong understanding of the latest research and treatments and is up to date on the latest medication. Having worked in a variety of settings, she is enthusiastic about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental/psychiatric health services.
We are excited about this opportunity for Junon to join our team and contribute to our agency’s excellent reputation in working with families on meeting their mental health and psychiatric care needs. We believe Miss. Dunbar’s skills and experience will be a valuable addition to our team!

With a Master’s in Psychology from NYU, specializing in forensic and clinical psychology, I bring 15 years of experience in trauma therapy. Now collaborating with In Community Counseling, my goal is to empower individuals and families on the path to healing.
My workbooks offer practical guidance for navigating challenges post-trauma. I believe everyone deserves tools for healing, and I’m committed to providing resources and support. Witnessing clients reclaim their lives is inspiring, reinforcing the resilience of the human spirit and the power of community.
